Gabrielle Coffey - Speech Pathologist

Gabrielle has 20 years experience working as a Speech Pathologist, 13 of which have been in private practice. Her professional, warm and down-to-earth manner immediately puts children and adults at ease. She approaches each case individually and holistically to achieve positive results.

Gabrielle specialises in working with children and adults with Voice Disorders, Stuttering and Speech Disorders (including velopharyngeal incompetence, cleft palate and dyspraxia).  In addition, she provides assessment and therapy services to adult clients with neurological conditions, language, and swollowing disorders, head and neck cancer, accent modification and hearing impaired.

Gabrielle works closely with a number of specialists Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists, with referrals coming from a number of sources in the Northern Beaches, as well as in the Eastern Suburbs and Hornsby areas. Gabrielle is highly regarded with clinicians in specialist stuttering clinics. In addition, she is referred by Voice Coaches, Singing Teachers, GP's, Orthodontists, Dentists, School Teachers, Allied Health and other Speech Pathologists, due to the nature of her specialty areas.

Gabrielle’s extensive experience includes work in acute and rehabilitation hospital settings of St Vincents Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, Concord Hospital, and Ryde Rehabilitation Centre. Further afield, her work in England, Scotland and India has extended her experience ambit.

  • Bachelor of Applied Science - Speech Pathology, (University of Sydney,1993)
  • Received the Private Speech Pathology Association Award for Clinical Proficiency (1993)
  • Member of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA)
  • Certified Member of SPA’s Professional Self Regulation Program (PSR) which shows her commitment to maintaining and extending her professional knowledge and skills, only highlighting her credibility in her nominated profession. This involves regular involvement in conferences, workshops and educations sessions.
